But I am so sore this morning! It's probably a result of a combination of the free hip hop class Allegra and I took at Crunch (which incidentally reminds me so much of Globo Gym<-- Dodgeball, anyone?) on Monday and the hours of walking yesterday. I thought going to yoga would be a good idea to stretch out my muscles, but I've decided to donate blood after class so I'll probably take today and tomorrow off from yoga.
My mom is coming downtown to meet me for lunch after class and then we're going to give blood at the campus blood drive. I used to be completely terrified of giving blood. I heard horror stories from my friends about nurses missing their veins, how big the needle is, etc. This past summer, though, my mom helped me get over my fear when we went to a blood drive back in Tampa. She talked to me throughout the whole process and when the nurse put the needle in, my mom yelled, "You're saving a life!" to compensate for the pinch. It really was a virtually painless process. Since that day, I've given blood twice on my own at up here at NYU blood drives. I think everyone should give blood, if eligible. There always seems to be a shortage and just 30 minutes of your time could save someone's life.
Speaking of good things, I went to Karen's today (the coffeeshop where I just quit my job) to get a vanilla latte before class. I had every intention to pay for it because I don't work there anymore, but Fred insisted I take it for free. He is so sweet to me and I feel awful for leaving that job because of him. Fred and Felix were really the two guys keeping me there, but in the end, I was going to school, trying to keep up with dance, voice, writing for the paper, and promoting MOMM Monday - Thursday and then working 20 hours Friday - Sunday. I was getting burnt out and couldn't give the energy I wanted to give to anything. Something had to give. The good thing is that Gal, my manager, said I could come back to work whenever I want, so everything ended on peaceful terms.
So, this morning I applied for 4 more summer theatre internships, and have been frantically checking my e-mail for my studio placement/ Tisch advisement appointment. I'm so anxious to find out and start planning everything!
Now I've got to get ready for my last class of the day. "Move Over, Mrs. Markham" opens tonight, so that's exciting! Hope to see everyone there.
:)
